Christmas Bird Count

The Christmas Bird Count (CBC) is an annual citizen science event. CBC started in 1900 so this is its124th year. It is overseen by the Audubon Society. On a specific date around Christmas time each year volunteers from all over North and South America take time to do a census of bird species in their area. The Raleigh route is part of the Memphis Circle of the CBC and will be completed on December 17 this year. The google map on this page shows the stops on the Raleigh route in case you are interested. The links below offer a little more info about a couple of the stops as well as a list of species typically found on the Raleigh Route. Volunteers are encouraged to take pictures of the birds they see during the CBC. Contact me Ryan Pudwell if you would like too help with the Raleigh CBC route.
